PRESENTATION

The diversity of approaches used by higher education institutions and quality assurance agencies toward assessing student learning outcomes and documenting program effectiveness creates fertile ground for discussion, exchange of good practices and points of view. These perspectives reflect a complete paradigm shift in the higher education community, from major emphasis on inputs and resources to outcomes.

This is a global paradigm shift “in progress” and the crucial elements facing higher education leaders are defining student learning outcomes, assessing their own effectiveness, and ensuring that today’s outcomes are continually reviewed for their relevance to the graduate’s future careers.
This leadership colloquium represents a good occasion to deepen discussions and continue to sustain the changing paradigm.
